Heureka Z was born 1960 out of the Holsteiner mare line 8145. Under Hermann Schridde she was one of the most successful international jumpers in the period 1969-71, where she had many wins in Hamburg, Aachen, Bruxelles, Vienna, Berlin and Noerten-Hardenberg.
After having won the Grand Prix in Aachen and getting second place in the Hamburg Derby, she was sold to Leon Melchior, founder of the Stoeterij Zangersheide, who again could celebrate with her impressive success (for example winning the Grand Prix in Berlin) before making her a foundation mare in Zangersheide. The following decades only can be highlighted as follows:
Male offspring: Heureka Z produced Goliath Z (by Graf Gotthard Z)- who sired Grosso Z, the producer of Goldfever- and the legendary Ahorn Z (by Alme Z), who for example sired Acord I, II, and III, Aktionaer and over 15 other approved sons.
Female offspring: Heureka Z left four daughters for breeding, which founded a whole dynasty of show jumpers
1. The first daughter Argentina Z, by Alme Z (1977) is legendary for her crosses with Ramiro Z: Rebel I, II and III, Ratina Z, Roxan Z and Renomee Z. This three sisters left already a new generation of brut-mares, which now prove their world class very actually: for example Ratina Z's daughter Calipa Z with her son Chicago Z (new stallion at Stud in Zangersheide) or Roxan Z's daughter Cayleigh Z with her second place in the World Championship for young horses, 6 year olds in 2002!
2. The second daughter Ganeffa Z, by Graf Gotthard Z (1978) was first successful in sport herself before produced horses such as Amarillo Z (Aladin), Rebound Z (Rebel II Z) and Al Capone Z (Atlantus Z). As full sister of Goliath Z her daughters deserve special attention in the future breeding.
3. The third daughter Reureka Z, by Ramiro Z(1982) is well known as dam of the stallions Faust Z, Samson Z, Lauriston Z and her daughter Cleopatra Z (who's son Carpediem Z just became third in the World Championships for Young Horses, 6 year olds division).
4. The forth daughter Romanze Z by Ramiro Z (1983) is getting especially important by the fact, that as only one she left Zangersheide to the Bahle breeding Farm in Germany, with which she moved to Canada in 1993 to the newly established Stud Center Okanagan Show Jumping Stables Ltd.. Romanze Z had proven herself in Zangersheide by reknown female offspring like Cobra Z (dam of the Zangersheide stallion Roble Z), Cantate Z and Fiesta Z as well as the stallions Liberty Z and Adeptus Z. At Okanagan Show Jumping Stables she developed a full foundation lineage with her daughter Chablis Z, then Clou Z (in sport at the East Coast) and the approved stallions Luxury Z (Canadian Champion stallion in 1997) and Lurex Z and her grandson Lupus Z (out of Chablis Z). Most promising her son Alkasar Z (2000) and Chablis Z's son Locaro Z (2001) with spectacular quality. As latest sensation her great granddaughter Camanda Z (by Carthago Z) together with Ganeffa Z's daughter Courtisane Z (by Calvin Z) and Roxan Z's granddaughter Clarissa Z (by Caretano Z) were coming to Okanagan Show Jumping Stables in November 2002 joining "the North American army" of this amazing foundation line.
