Caletto I was a tall, important sire with the smooth topline of
amodern riding horse. Good face with rather heavy neck and thick throatlatch. Good trot and marvelous canter. Extraordinary jumping ability with fantastic form over fences.
Between 1981 to 1985 Caletto I successfully competed in international showjumping competitions. In 1983 he was team bronze medalist at the European championships in Hickstead. In the same year he was the most successful German horse competing in Prix des Nations classes and the horse with the highest winnings at the CSIO in Geneva. He has also won or placed high in numerous Grand Prix and international competitions. In 1985 he won the first CSI in Stuttgart. In five years he won more than DM 100,000 - more than any German sire before him.
